Hi, I’m Hayley – a dancer, choreographer, and creative spirit living in Melbourne, Australia. I’m a proud mother to four wonderful children: Evelyn, Korben, Wren, and Quinn, and have been happily married to Leigh for 18 years. I’m passionate about creativity, connecting with others, and exploring the world of contemporary dance and Christian spirituality. I’ve been working as a self-employed dancer, choreographer, and director since 2008, and my journey has taken me through many exciting and meaningful collaborations. Most recently, I’ve had the privilege of working with Colette MacLaren at Eden Dance, where we’ve created thought-provoking works like I See You (2020), Home Enough (2018), and Where Have All the Flowers Gone? (2016). These projects have allowed me to dive deep into storytelling, emotional expression, and community engagement.
Over the years, I’ve performed, taught, and choreographed across a range of settings, from schools to churches to community events. I love working with children, teaching them how to express themselves through improvisation and creative movement. I’ve also had the chance to lead workshops and connect with dancers in Melbourne and beyond, partnering with organizations like the Australian Christian Dance Fellowship and Christian Artists Factory.
A special highlight of my career was the creation of Where Have All the Flowers Gone?, a work that explored the powerful stories of women who experienced antenatal and postnatal depression. This project was deeply personal, and working with these stories was both heartbreaking and inspiring. The goal was to honor these women’s experiences through dance, and I’m proud of the work we created.
I’ve also had the opportunity to perform with amazing choreographers like Katrina Rank, Sela Kiek, Christina Evans, and Brian Lucas, and have worked with the youth-focused group GLOW, where I served as Artistic Director and helped produce their album Take a Look in 2009.
Alongside my dance career, I’ve studied at Deakin University, Swinburne University, and Tabor College, earning degrees in Contemporary Arts, Small Business Management, and Ministry.
Whether I’m leading a creative project, learning something new, or juggling the beautiful chaos of motherhood, I approach everything with enthusiasm, responsibility, and a willingness to take risks. I’m all about collaboration, connection, and giving people the space to move – literally and figuratively.
